Use it up and Get it Done!

So I challenged myself this week to actually ge some scrapbooking done, scrapbooking for myself and not for a class. So I started with some paper my mom gave me from Christmas and did a few quick pages and then I found this Cosmo Cricket paper kit that I had purchased a few months ago. I decided to use it up and do as many pages as I could out of one kit. Each of these layouts were created in 30 minutes or less. I did my scrapbooking backwards to some, I started with the paper and found the pictures to match. I have stacks of pictures that need to be scrapbooked, everyday, adorable pictures of my kids that have been waiting for a home in their albums. Are these the best layouts I have ever done??? Probably not, but they are cute enough and they are done...even the journaling, which is HUGE for me.

I realized that I have a lot of supplies that I have been waiting to use. I even have supplies that I was saving for a special scrapbooking occassion like fine china or something. What am I waiting for? All my memories are important and its time to get some pages done. And the reality is, is that there will always be more paper and stickers and embellishments. It is time to use what I have and fill my albums and most importantly, get out some creative juices and do something for me. 11 pages in one week, not bad...

Our Little Darlings

Ready to scrap those special pictures of your little one, or in my case, little ones? Here's another of my upcoming classes at Pebbles in my Pocket.

I was inspired by Pebbles Inc.' s Lil' Miss Collection. I loved the soft colors and simple, pretty patterns of the papers. I also loved that it was adorable baby girl product that wasn't in baby pink. I love pink, but its so nice to have some more colors in my daughter's album. Luckily I also had these amazing pictures of my little girl taken by an awesome photographer I know, Mary Taylor She took these adorable pictures for me for the flyers and marketing for my home child care business. The colors worked so well with the Lil' Miss and the pictures perfectly captured the joy my little Samantha brings me.

Of course I also have little boys who need to be scrapped too, so the Lil' Buddy collection was there for me. By copying and slightly tweaking the same layouts I did for Samantha's pages I was able to create a boy version and complete some pages of my little Tyler.

This is a class gives you the choice of either the girl or boy kit, or you can get both and save on the second class kit!

In this class you will complete 2 12x12 layouts: 1 one page layout and 1 two page layout

When: Wednesday, March 17, 2010
Time: 7:00pm-8:30pm
Cost: $15.00 for the first kit, $12.00 for each additional kit when ordered when you sign up
(please specify which kit(s) you want: boy or girl)

The focus of this class is to help us scrap all those great pictures we all have of just everyday life with kids.

Being a mom brings lots of ups and downs, but mainly a lot of joy. One great joy that motherhood has brought me is great pictures and memories of my children to scrapbook. Luckily, I have adorable children (not that I am biased or anything) and I am able to get some great shots of them that lead to some of my favorite scrapbook pages. I hope you enjoy these layouts I did my children in all their baby cuteness!

I have been teaching scrapbook classes for about eight years. I really enjoy sharing scrapbooking with others. My favorite part of teaching is looking at everyone's pictures and hearing the memories behind them. Here are some layouts from a class I taught this past summer. Its one of my favorite classes, and my longest. Its an all day scrap party....12 2 page layouts in one day. Loads of fun, scrapping and laughs!.... Enjoy the Samples and Happy Scrappin'!

A New Year, A new opportunity

I decided to start a blog to share my love of scrapbooking. I began scrapbooking my senior year in high school and it was love at first sight. I love so many things about scrapbooking....preserving the memories, highlighting a great photo, playing with all the fun tools, and mixing all the many papers out there. I would have to admit, I am a traditional scrapbooker at heart. I love to make a mess with all my supplies and I love to find new ways to play withthe paper and embellishments. Its truly my one creative passion. Although, someday I hope add quilting to my hobby list, but the way I see it, quilting is just scrapbooking with fabric...I so enjoy walking into a local srapbook store and looking at all the papers..the patterns, the colors, the way they mix and match. Much like a quilter in a fabric store.

I will use this blog to showcase some of my favorite layouts, promote my scrapbook classes that I teach (Pebbles in my Pocket, Orem, UT) and share thoughts and tips about scrapbooking. I hope we can share together and inspire the creativity in us all to make a mess, have fun, and make the most of our precious memories...
